West Ham United reportedly now have an offer on the table for striker Boulaye Dia ahead of the January transfer window.
That’s according to Tutto Salernitana who claims that the striker could be sold to the Hammers for around €20 million (£17 million).
However, it appears as though the Hammers have made the first move for the Senegal international.

Moyes clearly needs to bring another striker to the London Stadium in the January transfer window, so it’s little wonder why the West Ham manager might have made an offer for Boulaye Dia.
The striker is currently on loan with Salernitana from Villarreal, and the Italian outfit have an option to buy him for around €12 million (£10 million), according to Tutto Salernitana.
It seems as though they could be ready to make a quick profit on the forward…
West Ham have made offer for striker
Tutto Salernitana claims that numerous Premier League clubs want to sign Boulaye Dia, but the Hammers are the only ones to have actually lodged an official offer.
Quite how much the bid is is unclear, but as mentioned earlier, it will take around £17 million for Salernitana to consider selling him.
West Ham missed out on the Senegalese attacker to Villarreal in the summer of 2021.
The 19-capped Senegal striker bagged just seven goals and five assists in 35 games for the Spanish side last term though (Transfermarkt).
He left Villarreal to join Italian side Salernitana on a season-long loan in the summer, and has since racked up six goals and two assists in 14 Serie A games (Transfermarkt).
He has one World Cup goal to his name for Senegal out in Qatar as well, and will look to add to his tally today against Ecuador.
Dia is powerful, has explosive pace and is a real menace for opposing defenders.
The Senegalese forward has been far from prolific recently, and he definitely hasn’t set the World Cup alight out in Qatar, despite scoring last time out for his country.
If the report is true and West Ham have made an official offer for the striker though, it’s clear that David Moyes likes something about Boulaye Dia.
It remains to be seen whether the Hammers have a bid accepted for the striker. I do believe that £17 million would be too much to pay for the Senegalese hitman though. £10-12 million would be a more realistic price in my opinion.
