West Ham will reportedly have to pay just £8 million to sign Mainz centre-back Jeremiah St Juste in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Jornal de Notícias (print edition April 27th, page 34) who claim that the Hammers could face competition from Sporting Lisbon and Leicester City for the 25-year-old’s signature.

West Ham manager David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his centre-back ranks at the London Stadium before the start of next season.

Your Club’s SURPRISE Star This Season

Angelo Ogbonna Kurt Zouma and Issa Diop are all currently out injured. Ogbonna will be 34 before the start of next season and Craig Dawson will soon be 32 as well.

Signing a top-class central defender will be pivotal to the Hammers’ hopes of achieving success over the next few years. And it seems as though Moyes has plans to do exactly that…

West Ham eyeing summer transfer window swoop for Mainz centre-back

Jornal de Notícias reckon that the Hammers are battling Leicester and Sporting Lisbon for the Dutchman’s signature.

And St Juste is allegedly available for just £8 million. That’s an absolute bargain that West Ham cannot afford to miss out on.

When coming up through the ranks, he was described as a ‘sensational’ defender by The Daily Star. And he has since gone on from strength to strength.

In eight Bundesliga appearances for Mainz this season, St Juste has averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.6 clearances. He’s also averaged three successful aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

Standing at 6ft tall, St Juste isn’t the biggest of centre-backs but he is unbelievably strong in the tackle and incredibly quick along the ground.

In fact, he is the Bundesliga’s fastest player (BILD journalist Christian Falk).

St. Juste has a great leap as well and is very strong in the air despite the fact that he isn’t the biggest of defenders.

Signing the Mainz ace for just £8 million would be an unbelievably good deal for West Ham and we’d be delighted if David Moyes brings the centre-back to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
