West Ham United look set to grant Craig Dawson his wish to leave as David Moyes bids for Bundesliga star Nico Elvedi.
West Ham have made eight signings and spent around £180m so far this summer but there could be more arrivals yet.
One of those is cult hero defender Craig Dawson.
Fan favourite Dawson is said to have asked to leave for family reasons as he seeks a move further north.
The likes of Wolves, Aston Villa and a number of other clubs have been linked with a move for the dependable 32-year-old, who is said to have been commuting down to West Ham from Manchester.
Moyes has conceded Dawson may indeed leave the club before Thursday’s deadline.

“Ideally, we wouldn’t (lose Dawson) but it’s probably a much more complicated situation that he has,” Moyes said in his pre-Spurs presser (Football.London).
And it seems he may have a replacement lined up.

According to Swiss journalist Andreas Boni West Ham have made a bid for the Borussia Monchengladbach defender.
The Blick journalist reports that Nice, who have been trying to sign Elvedi, now “have competition” from West Ham in the race to sign the 25-year-old Switzerland international.
It is easy to see why Elvedi has caught Moyes’ eye.
The 6ft 2in star has an average match rating of 7/10 over the last three years for club and country.
Across 28 appearances for Gladbach last season, Elvedi averaged 1.4 tackles per game, 1.2 interceptions, successfully played the offside trap more than once per match, made nearly three clearances every 90 minutes and committed less than one foul in every appearance (WhoScored).
If the Elvedi claims are accurate, Dawson’s West Ham future looks to now hinge on whether the Hammers can agree a deal with Gladbach.
Should Dawson leave West Ham would have Kurt Zouma, Thilo Kehrer, Angelo Ogbonna and Nayef Aguerd on their books.
But Aguerd will be out until the end of October and probably won’t be ready for a first team return until after the World Cup break.
So getting someone like Elvedi in would be wise, especially considering this could be Ogbonna’s final season with the Hammers.
