West Ham United are allegedly ready to sell Czech right-back Vladimir Coufal in the January transfer window.

That’s according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth who told Give Me Sport that Hammers boss David Moyes may be ready to go in a different direction to Coufal in January.

The 30-year-old has already been heavily linked with a move from West Ham to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the January window.

Coufal was brought to the Hammers for around £4 million in October 2020 (The Sun).

Initially, he made such a promising start to life at West Ham and looked like an incredibly good value for money signing.

The 30-year-old has regressed badly over the past year or so though, and it seems as though his days at the London Stadium could well be numbered…

Vladimir Coufal could leave West Ham in January transfer window

The 30-year-old may be told ‘thank you for your service’ but it’s time to leave in January.

That’s according to Dharmesh Sheth who told Give Me Sport that Coufal may well have played his last game in a Hammers shirt:

That is definitely one to look out for [Coufal exit]. There’s somebody I’ve been speaking to about Coufal and the feeling I’m getting is that the January transfer window could be one where West Ham will say ‘thank you for your service, but we’re going to move in a different direction and we’re going to allow you to go’.

I really do believe that we should be selling Coufal in January.

Moyes needs to sign top-class wing-backs both on the right and left hand side, if he is to get the best out of his current squad of players in my opinion.

And the 32-capped Czech Republic international is certainly someone who Moyes should be looking to upgrade upon.

Gone is the player who absolutely dominated attackers like Jack Grealish and Heung-Min Son last season.

The 30-year-old right-back is a shadow of his former self…at both ends of the pitch I might add.

The January transfer window will be the perfect time for West Ham to sell Coufal and replace him with a young, pacy and energetic right wing-back.
