West Ham United are allegedly one of the leading candidates to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti on a free transfer in the summer.

That’s according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb who claim that the 28-year-old Italian hitman will leave Torino on a free transfer at the end of this season.

What an opportunity this could be for the Hammers to sign a top-class striker for absolutely nothing.

David Moyes desperately needs to bring a proven goalscorer to the London Stadium this summer.

Michail Antonio works his socks off week in, week out but let’s face it, he just isn’t a striker.

The 32-year-old is a poor finisher and the runs that he makes really are mind-boggling at times. Signing a striker who could score us 20 goals per season really could take us to another level next term. And it seems as though that’s exactly what Moyes plans to do…

Tuttomercatoweb reckon that the Hammers are very serious about signing the 28-year-old Torino striker when the transfer window opens and his contract expires with the Serie A outfit.

Signing Belotti for nothing this summer seems like an absolute no-brainer for West Ham boss Moyes.

The Torino striker has a proven track record of scoring goals at the very highest level for a sustained period of time.

The 41-capped Italy international has bagged 155 goals in 385 career games at club level (Transfermarkt).

Belotti is an incredibly hard-working forward. He possesses superb movement and is always a real handful for opposing defenders. The Torino ace certainly knows where the back of the net is as well.

Signing the Italian for absolutely nothing would be sensational business for the Hammers.

He would certainly provide strong competition for Michail Antonio and would enable the 32-year-old to actually operate out wide where he is more effective anyway.

And a West Ham having Andrea Belotti as an option next season would be a very good thing indeed.
