West Ham United and Newcastle in transfer race with Tottenham Hotspur for Evan Ndicka
West Ham United and Newcastle United are two teams in the race with Tottenham Hotspur for Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka, as per Shields Gazette.
The 23-year-old defender has quickly become one of Bundesliga’s most revered centre-backs in his age group. Those who have seen him play would know that he likes to play on the front foot.
It’s not an uncommon sight to see him rush into tackles and play with an aggressive outlook – a bit like our Cristian Romero. The Hammers and the Magpies are two of the most ambitious English teams outside the ‘big six.
They can guarantee playing time to Ndicka, who is clearly one of the first names on Frankfurt’s teamsheet. He has played in 23 games for them so far this season across competitions.
Moreover, his contract situation would also be very appealing to potential suitors. Ndicka, if he doesn’t renew his terms, will become a free agent at the end of the season (Transfermarkt).
Signing a player of his ability and age for nothing is certainly a deal that Spurs cannot miss out on. Like the Hammers and the Magpies, it’s safe to say that manager Antonio Conte could also potentially promise some playing time to the Frenchman.

After all, he clearly doesn’t trust Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga, and loanee Joe Rodon as regular starters. Meanwhile, as good as Ben Davies has been as a left-sided centre-half, playing a natural centre-back in that position could bode well for us.
It remains to be seen what comes of this potential transfer pursuit. Clement Lenglet is also set to return to Barcelona at the end of his loan spell and Spurs can find themselves in the market for a centre-back come 2023.

If it comes to that, Ndicka could be one of the most astute deals we can make when it comes to the financial aspect.
