Tottenham Hotspur chief answers if Spurs will buy Arnaut Danjuma this summer
Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that there is an option to buy Arnaut Danjuma in the summer.
Spurs have brought in the forward from Villarreal on loan for the second half of the season. The 26-year-old will add great depth to our frontline.
He has experience playing in the Premier League during his time at AFC Bournemouth and can play anywhere across the attack without much trouble. He would certainly be an upgrade on Bryan Gil, who was loaned to Sevilla last month.
In a way, at least on paper, Spurs have strengthened their attack this season. Danjuma is tricky, he can run, and more importantly, he can be decisive in the final third.
What should Tottenham do?
Paratici has claimed that the Lilywhites believe in the player but with regard to buying him this summer, nothing is set in stone. He said (h/t Fabrizio Romano):
“We’ve an option to buy Danjuma in June. We believe in the player, we will see in the next 5 months. Danjuma was always near to join top clubs, in January we had the opportunity to sign him and we decided to proceed.”
It is smart of Tottenham to include an option to buy the player. The situation is always easy when there is no obligation to purchase, especially if there is uncertainty if the player will be able to impress or not.
Those who have seen Danjuma play with the Yellow Submarine, especially under former manager Unai Emery, would know that he is a handful down that side. He also made a triumphant debut in our 3-0 FA Cup win over Preston North End on 28 January, where he scored a goal.

If he can prove that he belongs in this Spurs side and give the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski a run for their money in the starting XI, then he is always welcome to stay longer than just this campaign.
