Liverpool target Franck Kessie is reportedly ‘dragging his feet’ over deciding on an uncertain future.

The 25-year-old AC Milan star has been perennially linked with the Reds in recent months but it appears there could now be fierce competition for the capture.

Both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen on the defensive midfielder, with the Spanish giants in ‘pole’ for the Ivory Coast international.

That’s according to a report from Marca, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter.

The report claims that the 52-cap ace will evaluate options ahead of the summer as Milan try desperately to tie their man down further.

So far this season Kessie – described as ‘devastating’ by Antonio Cassano – has earned an impressive 7.15 average Sofascore rating from 17 Serie A outings.

Still holding a market value of £43.2million despite a dwindling contract (Transfermarkt), signing the powerful Ivorian for free is a huge temptation for any top European club.

Despite being relatively well-stocked in the midfield department, Jurgen Klopp would almost certainly welcome a player of Kessie’s class into the ranks with open arms.

With both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of contract in 2023, James Milner likely to retire at the end of the season and Fabinho in need of an understudy, this is a golden opportunity to cover plenty of bases.
