Tottenham Hotspur is back in the top four picture thanks mainly to outstanding performances across the team; here, we rank the Spurs players based on their current form.

Until recently, Tottenham Hotspur was playing some inconsistent football. At times Spurs looked great, like when they beat Manchester United, and other times they looked lost, like the FA Cup loss to Middlesbrough. Over the last month, Tottenham has found its footing and resembles a proper Antonio Conte squad, where players are working hard and fighting for minutes. With Spurs finally running on all cylinders, it is time to look at who is doing it best; here are the top five Tottenham players based on current form.

Honorable Mention

With 11 players on the pitch and so many playing exceptionally well, it is difficult, but some players are outside our top five looking in. Two players, in particular, are close to the top but still have another gear they can find.

Seventh on form – Pierre Hojbjerg

With the excitement of new players contributing and everyone anticipating the return of Oliver Skipp, it can be easy to overlook Pierre Hojbjerg. The Danish midfielder has played all but two Premier League games for Spurs over the last two seasons.

Since sitting out the home loss to Wolverhampton, Hojbjerg has been outstanding. Playing every minute of the last eight matches, Hojbjerg has consistently put in firm shifts, allowing his new midfield running mate to shine.

Sixth on form – Heung-min Son

It may be unfair to have Heung-min Son this low in our rankings in some respects. Son has five goals and one assist in his last six Premier League contests, so he contributes. However, Son disappeared in losses against Middlesbrough and Manchester United. Further, Son probably would have scored a hat trick against Newcastle this past weekend with a bit more composure.

Ultimately, Son has set the bar so high our expectations are probably unrealistic for the South Korean. However, his play over the last two games shows that whatever mini-slump he had is a thing of the past.
