Tottenham outcast Tanguy Ndombele is linked to Al Ettifaq

Tanguy Ndombele will be the latest Tottenham Hotspur player to be off-loaded, per Caught Offside, this time to Al-Ettifaq. The French midfielder was signed for the club-record fee of €62.00 million in 2019.

It wasn’t long until Ndombele fell down the pecking order. After a few scattered appearances during the 2021/22 season, the France player went on a series of loan stints. First Lyon, then Napoli and eventually Galatasaray, Ndombele’s destinations kept changing.

The player is in dire need of a permanent home and that’s when the Al Ettifaq rumours started surrounding. Saudi Pro League is attracting players from all around to boost their PR. Tanguy Ndombele will be a nice addition to Steven Gerrard’s side who suffers from Jordan Henderson’s exit.

French outfit Rennes is also supposedly pursuing the 27-year-old. Rennes seems to be a more realistic destination for the Tottenham man as it will be a trip back home for him.

No chance for a comeback for Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur under Ange Postecoglou is like never before. The North Londoners have undergone too many managerial changes in the past few years. The instability has done them only harm.

The Lilywhites finally seem to have set the tone under their new head coach. Postecoglou refurbished the team well within the limits and also added players who didn’t burn a hole in their pocket.

Ange Postecoglou has transformed the club for good

Despite losing Harry Kane, the former Celtic manager created a lethal-scoring Tottenham side with Son and Maddison as the spearheads. If not for injury woes, Spurs would have sat at the helm by now. Nevertheless, the gaffer has found the right mix of players.

With a considerable number of individual players at his dispersal, it is quite evident that Tanguy Ndombele isn’t someone the manager is keen to have by him. Ange has already started filtering out his squad to make way for new arrivals and it also includes loaned-out individuals.

A move away from home is ideally the best for both parties. It is expected that Tanguy Ndombele will find his new home before the transfer window shuts.
