The top source inside West Ham has told Hammers News ‘anything is possible’ in a big January transfer window update.

The January transfer window is upon us and West Ham fans are wondering whether they should allow themselves to get excited.

After Tim Steidten’s hit rate in the summer it’s difficult for supporters not to get their hopes up.

Back in November a key senior source inside West Ham revealed to Hammers News that the club would have to move players out to satisfy FFP rules and make space in the squad for new arrivals.

In that exclusive it was also revealed that African players were among those being targeted by the Hammers in January.

‘Anything is possible’ says top source

The club’s financial situation was reiterated in a further update to Hammers News last month.

Now, with the transfer rumour mill well and truly whirring into life, West Ham fans are already seeing the club making moves to ship players out.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

Thilo Kehrer is on his way to Monaco while others such as Nayef Aguerd, Said Benrahma and Danny Ings could follow him out of the West Ham exit door.

So what does it all mean for West Ham’s own hopes of making signings amid links to a host of forwards and defenders?

Well the top source inside West Ham has told Hammers News ‘anything is possible’ in a big January transfer window update.

Amid some confusion among fans over whether the club is able – or intends – to make signings next month we sought clarification from the key contact.

‘All balls are in the air’

And the response is very encouraging indeed.

“The January window, it’s not the best time to buy,” the source told Hammers News.

“But if we move players on then anything is possible.

“All balls are in the air. The manager is happy with his squad, though.”

Ideally West Ham need to sign a forward and/or left-sided attacker, a centre-back and full-back cover.

Some notable names West Ham have been linked with thus far in the window who fit the bill in that respect include Wolves defender Max Kilman, Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters – who can play left and right-back – and Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson.

One thing is for certain after that update – things promise to be far from dull this month.

Over to you Steidten, David Moyes and David Sullivan.
