Antonio Conte thanks Harry Kane as Tottenham Hotspur records stellar defeat against Newcastle United

Speaking in his post-match presser as quoted by Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte thanked Harry Kane after his men beat Newcastle United with a jaw-dropping 5-1 scoreline.

The English striker may not have gotten on the scoreboard against the Magpies, but he beautifully assisted Matt Doherty in the 48th minute; his vision and passing from deeper positions has caused havoc for opposition defenders throughout the season and it was no different for the Toons.

The 28-year-old showed once again why he is so highly rated. Whilst most strikers are known primarily for their ability to bag the goals, Kane’s ability to drop back and pick up pockets can cause problems for some of the best defenders in the world.

His ability to thread that killer final pass may go under the radar at times in comparison to his mind-boggling stats. The English captain who had a slow start to the campaign has now picked up the pace, bagging 15 goals in 28 matches across all competitions under the Italian manager.

Speaking to reporters after the match as quoted by Football.London, Conte was full of praise and went on to thank Kane as his side demolished the Tyneside-based club.

He’s a world-class striker and he deserves the best. He’s a great worker and this is not normal. Normally the players that have talent don’t like to work hard because they have the talent. I didn’t have talent so I had to work hard. He was a big example for his teammates.”

Conte has coached the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez during his coaching career but it seems that he is truly in awe of Kane- a player he wants to impress with his coaching style.

“When you see him working in this way, for sure you have the desire to continue to work and work very hard. For this reason, I want to tell him thanks and I hope to give him satisfaction. I think now he’s enjoying playing this type of football.

Kane all the way!

Harry Kane has been a pivotal figure in our attacking setup over the last few years. He has grown from strength to strength and keeps setting the bar higher with each passing season. The English captain has struck up a feared partnership with Son Heung-Min breaking the record for the most goal combinations in the Premier League.

Kane helped carve open the backline on the day and one can rarely fault him for lack of effort on the pitch. The Englishman was ridiculed for his poor performances at the start of the campaign but he has risen from the ashes like a true pioneer of the game.

The former Juventus manager is known to bring out the best from his players throughout his coaching stints and we can see that not only with Kane but with a lot of key players in our squad.

January signings Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are now starting to make a substantial impact with the first team and our supporters would be happy with the kind of exciting football that Spurs have been providing us in recent memory.

It isn’t tough to understand why Harry Kane is apparently being chased by other top clubs in the PL, namely Manchester United and Manchester City. Hopefully, the Conte’s vision for Spurs coupled with our recent rise to form would convince the English captain to commit his long-term future to the club.
