“The perfect team”- Harry Kane urged to join this team if Tottenham don’t win a trophy this season

Harry Kane urged to ditch Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester United if trophy drought continues

Harry Kane has been told by former Aston Villa centre-forward Gabriel Agbonlahor that Manchester United will be “the perfect team” for him to join if Tottenham Hotspur’s trophy drought continues.

Spurs last won a trophy in the 2007-08 campaign when they won the EFL Cup. Kane has never won a trophy at Spurs, which is surprising given how talented the 29-year-old is.

It won’t be a false statement to say that players that are not at Kane’s level are stacking up trophies elsewhere. The England international has a lot of individual accolades to his name.

However, Agbonlahor believes that he could leave the club at the end of the season if manager Antonio Conte doesn’t deliver a trophy. He told Football Insider (h/t the Express):

“I actually do think that it might come to the stage at the end of the season if he hasn’t won anything that Harry Kane says ‘The joke’s over, I’m gone. I love the chance to get the goal record but the one I want is trophies’.”

Kane’s contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium concludes in the summer of 2024. As a result, Bayern Munich have been linked with his services but Agbonlahor believes United would be the perfect fit for him.

“He might even look to go somewhere in England, Man United would be the perfect team for Harry Kane to go and play in. He will be frustrated. I feel like Harry Kane has to graft for a goal at the moment.”

The ex-Aston Villa striker added that Kane and Son Heung-min have to rely on themselves to come up with wonderful goals for the club. He says it should be easier for them than that.

He isn’t wrong. We have good full-backs but they’re not the best full-backs in the world. Our central midfield is solid but we don’t have a creative playmaker in Kevin de Bruyne’s ilk.

Spurs would be wise to add more world-class quality to this team so that Kane and Son don’t feel like big fishes in a small pond. As for United, it would be interesting to see if the Bullish Daniel Levy ever lets Spurs’ direct top-four rival strengthen themselves at Tottenham’s expense.
