Erik ten Hag confirms that three first-teamers are absent from the Omonia match with injury, joining Anthony Martial on the sidelines.

Manchester United and Erik ten Hag are gearing up for a vital Europa League match against Omonia this week, with the Red Devils looking to take some sort of stranglehold on their group.

Old Trafford plays host for the game against our Cypriot opponents here. Earlier today, we confirmed that Anthony Martial would miss the match as he hasn’t trained.

Shortly after, we were given a further injury update from the boss. He’s confirmed that three more players will join Martial in being absent here. None of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka or Donny van de Beek will be available.

It was journalist Simon Stone with the information, with these players now missing a vital opportunity to get some minutes under their belts.

I’m looking at Maguire in particular as someone who’ll suffer as a result. Obviously, he has huge plans to feature in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad. The longer time ticks on without the Englishman being available, the fewer minutes he’ll have under his belt. Sooner rather than later, the England boss has a decision to make…

Wan-Bissaka’s injury is intriguing. We haven’t really heard much about the severity of the issue, though I’m now starting to get concerned that this was actually a pretty serious problem.

As for Van de Beek, we’re all pretty much writing him off at this point, which is just super sad. The fact that he’s now injured all-but ends his World Cup dreams. He needs a transfer away from Old Trafford as soon as possible.
