A video has emerged showing Hammers talisman Declan Rice berating the referee in the tunnel after West Ham’s semi-final defeat.

West Ham are licking their wounds today after being denied a dream European final following a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Hammers News warned West Ham about card happy Spanish referee Jesus Gil Manzano when UEFA put him in charge of the Europa League semi-final second leg in Germany.

And true to form the official seemed determined to be the star of the show dishing out cards left, right and centre.

Gil Manzano sent off Aaron Cresswell and David Moyes and booked a host of others as he completely lost control of the game.

The Cresswell red, after just 18 minutes, came as a major blow.

And referee Gil Manzano flashed another red card West Ham’s way in the second half.

Rice was also booked on the night and after the game both he and West Ham manager Moyes criticised the standard of refereeing.

The Hammers talisman surely sealed legend status by saying what every angry West Ham fan was thinking as he confronted Gil Manzano after the match.

Footage shows Rice angrily telling the referee his performance was ‘so poor’.

“Ref, it’s so poor, it’s so poor!” Rice shouts at the official, who had dished out 136 yellow cards and seven red cards in just 33 games this season prior to West Ham’s second leg clash with Frankfurt.

“It’s so bad, how can you be that bad, honestly!”

Rice continues to berate the official as he walks back to the West Ham dressing room and it is seriously cathartic watching for any Hammers fan.

West Ham saw last night just why the great Lionel Messi once infamously snubbed Gil Manzano.

If Rice wasn’t already a West Ham legend then he certainly is now.

Rice was every single one of us in that tunnel.

The passion he shows tells you everything about how much he loves West Ham United.
