Scott McTominay shows off war wounds after Leeds United game – Old Trafford Faithful

Scott McTominay was more than willing to get stuck in as Man United beat Leeds United yesterday. He has the wounds to prove it…

Manchester United Football Club managed to get one over on the old enemy yesterday, winning 4-2 away at Elland Road in treacherous conditions.

The game itself felt like a proper throwback to the good old days against Leeds United. Tackles flying in everywhere, physicality, energy from both teams and two sets of fans who simply repulse each other. I, for one, absolutely loved it.

Our lads would have loved the full-time result, too. Minus one minute of madness to start the second 45, Manchester United bossed this game – and it all started from winning the midfield battle.

Paul Pogba was the better performer, though it was Scott McTominay who set the tone. He was on the receiving end of a crunching, nasty tackle in the early-going. Rather than wilting as a result of that, the Scotland international reacted in a positive way and hit back.

After the game, the United star took to Instagram to show off his war wounds. That really was a nasty tackle in the early-going. But the media don’t want to talk about that one, hey…?

At the end of the day, the better team won. Yeah, on another day McTominay could have been sent off. But he wasn’t and that’s that.

I know he may not be the most talented individual, but he certainly does a job for this team and we need a player like him in our starting line-up every single match we play.

What I love most is that McTominay absolutely loves matches like this. He always stands up to be counted and he was a big reason why we won yesterday.

Love it, Scotty!
