Colombian right-back, Santiago Arias, is seemingly ready to make a transfer to Man United.
Manchester United ended up having a pretty decent summer transfer window, though it probably took the club a little longer than Erik ten Hag would’ve wanted to bring the signings in.
Behind the scenes, work is already taking place for the January transfer window. No doubt if the right player becomes available, the club will make their move for those guys.
It depends what sort of money is available at Ten Hag’s disposal, which will no doubt come to light in due course.
Well, there’s one man out there who is ready to make a big transfer to Old Trafford; Santiago Arias.
It’s journalist Johnson Saenz with the claim. He writes the 30-year-old has his ‘bags ready’ as he looks to complete a transfer to Man United. He took to Twitter on Friday to share that information.
Before we go on, this is the first time we’ve heard anything from Saenz, so in terms of validity, we cannot 100% confirm whether he’s a reliable source or not. It’ll be intriguing to see whether other media outlets begin to pick up on this rumour.
The intriguing thing about Arias is that he’s currently a free agent – meaning United could make this deal happen whenever they want. There’d be no waiting until the winter window. If the player is truly on Ten Hag’s radar, then this could happen sooner than we think.
I guess it comes down to how highly Ten Hag rates Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Diogo Dalot has that starting job all to himself right now, but maybe the gaffer wants to bring in a more reliable replacement.
At the very least, Arias brings more experience to the table, while he’s undoubtedly a better fit for the style of football United wants to play. Don’t forget that it wasn’t too long ago when Wan-Bissaka was also deemed surplus to requirements…
