Erik ten Hag has told Man United bosses that Cristiano Ronaldo should never play for the club again.
Cristiano Ronaldo is dominating the headlines right now. For all the wrong reasons.
The Portugal international launched a scathing attack on everything to do with Manchester United Football Club, in a bid to force his way out.
Well, Ronaldo may well get his wish…
According to the latest from ESPN, boss Erik ten Hag, who came in for some criticism from Ronaldo, has held a meeting with Joel Glazer. In that meetings, the Dutchman told the United co-chairman that the star should never play for the club again. It’s hard to disagree…
Apparently, Ten Hag delayed a family holiday in order to address the Ronaldo issue, with the gaffer believing the player has gone too far in his criticism of the club.
The Reds are now taking legal advice on how best to handle the situation, following the interview being made public on Sunday evening. Sources from ESPN state that some senior members of the dressing room are ‘furious’ with Ronaldo and the timing of the outburst – taking the shine off Alejandro Garnacho’s late winner against Fulham.
OTF’s verdict
Honestly, just let Ronaldo go as soon as possible. Terminate his contract if that’s a genuine option. No player is bigger than the club. Not even someone who is amongst the best to ever do it.
I get that Ronaldo wants to leave, but to disrespect the fans, who have adored him for so long, is massively disappointing. Giving the interview to Piers Morgan of all people just further sticks the knife in.
Just get away from my club please, Ronnie.
