West Ham United can sign a proven striker for a real bargain in the January transfer window it seems.

David Moyes is on the hunt to bring a top-class striker to West Ham in the January transfer window.

The Hammers boss currently has his entire first-choice front-line out and unavailable for selection, so attacking reinforcements are definitely required at the London Stadium.

One striker who has been heavily linked with us over the past few years is Boulaye Dia of Salernitana, and Moyes is said to be a very big fan of the 27-year-old hitman.

The powerful striker would suit our playing style to an absolute tee, and would be a big upgrade on Michail Antonio.

Now it seems like West Ham could pick him up for a real bargain this month…

According to Corriere dello Sport (print edition January 20th), West Ham can now pick up Dia for ‘less than €22 million’. That works out at less than £19 million.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

I this day and age, that would represent a real bargain for the Hammers.

Dia is incredibly powerful, proficient at playing with his back to goal and holding the ball up and is well-renowned for making tireless runs into the channels. The Senegalese forward possesses impressive pace as well.

He is a good finisher as well, with four goals in 14 games for Salernitana to his name this season. He has 78 career goals for club and country to his name as well (Transfermarkt).

Dia would provide us with a real focal point to our attacking play through the middle, and if he is truly available for £19 million this month, Moyes shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

I think West Ham signing the Salernitana striker in the January transfer window would make a lot of sense, and if nothing else he will provide Moyes with another option up front.
