West Ham United are interested in signing talented Santos youngster Marcos Leonardo.

According to a report from 90min, Santos starlet Marcos Leonardo is on the radar of West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window.

The East London outfit actually made a move to sign the 20-year-old wonderkid in January, but missed out on his services in the end.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be keen to bolster his centre-forward ranks in the summer, with Michail Antonio now 33 and Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings having failed to impress at the London Stadium.

Perhaps surprisingly though, Moyes seems to have identified a completely unproven striker ahead of the summer transfer window…

The Hammers boss is allegedly keen to bring the Santos starlet to the London Stadium this summer.

talkSPORT have described Leonardo as the new Sergio Aguero.

What an incredibly exciting transfer this would be for West Ham. If Moyes brings the 20-year-old forward to the London Stadium, he would be the third Brazilian that he has signed for the club, after Lucas Paqueta and Luizao recently arrived.

Leonardo has already bagged 42 goals and 10 assists in 141 senior games for Santos – an incredible tally given his age.

He stands at only 5ft 7in tall and isn’t the quickest but does possesses exceptional movement, real football intelligence and unreal finishing ability – hence the comparisons to Manchester City legend Aguero (Total Football Analysis).

If West Ham manage to sign Marcos Leonardo this summer, it will be a transfer that should get every single fan of the club excited.

Whether the Brazilian does in fact end up at the London Stadium remains to be seen though.
