West Ham United are allegedly keen to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer.

Casemiro is set to join Manchester United from Real Madrid, and as a result, McTominay faces a bleak future at Old Trafford according to a report from 90 Min.

That’s where West Ham, and several other Premier League clubs, come in.

Hammers boss David Moyes clearly wants to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

He has already signed Flynn Downes but he needs to add more competition and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, if West Ham are to enjoy a successful 2022/23 campaign.

And it seems as though the Scot has someone in particular in mind…

West Ham eyeing Scott McTominay swoop

90 Min reckon that Moyes is a very big fan of the 25-year-old Manchester United midfielder.

We believe that the 34-capped Scotland international would be a smart addition for the Hammers this summer.

Despite the jokes that the 25-year-old is a poor player, he is actually very good, and he has proved that for a number of years now. Diego Simeone once labelled the midfielder as a ‘world-class’ player (talkSPORT).

So McTominay clear has something special about him.

He is a strong and combative midfielder, and despite some West Ham fans not wanting the Man United man, we think he possesses everything that Moyes looks for in a midfielder.

In 30 Premier League games last season, McTominay averaged 2.2 tackles, one interception and two clearances per game. He also won 2.3 aerial duels per match. During those appearances, the Scot made 41.1 passes per game on average and recorded an impressive completion rate of 85.6% (Who Scored).

McTominay is an aggressive player and is tenacious in the tackle. He excels when closing down the opposition’s play through the middle of the park.

We’d love to see the 25-year-old move to the London Stadium this summer.

He earns around £60k-a-week at Old Trafford (Spotrac). That kind of wage would not be problematic for West Ham to match whatsover.

There have been no recent report indicating that Erik Ten Hag is prepared to let him leave Manchester United but Casemiro’s imminent arrival will surely knock the Scot down the central midfield pecking order.

So perhaps West Ham signing Scott McTominay this summer could be on. And we’ll be delighted if it happens.
