Fulham have allegedly made a new bid for West Ham United centre-back Issa Diop that could be worth as much as £20 million.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that Fulham have lodged a bid of £12 million plus a potential £8 million in add-ons for Hammers centre-back Issa Diop.

It is suggested that West Ham boss David Moyes wants more money up front if he is to allow the 25-year-old to leave the London Stadium in the summer transfer window though (The Daily Mail).

After arriving at the London Stadium in the summer of 2018 for around £25 million (The Express), Diop was one of the very best central defenders in the Premier League during his debut season.

The 25-year-old, who earns around £61k-a-week (Salary Sport), experienced a poor 2020/21 campaign though and was nowhere near his best last season either.

And Diop could be set for an exit from the London Stadium this summer…

Fulham lodge bid for Issa Diop

The Daily Mail reckon that the Cottagers have offered West Ham £12 million up front for Diop with a potential further £8 million in add-ons.

We think that the Hammers should take this and run, despite the fact that it would represent a big loss on our initial outlay on the 6ft 4in centre-back.

He clearly isn’t good enough to be playing regular Premier League football – not for the Hammers anyway.

In my opinion, £12 million potentially rising to £20 million for the 25-year-old would be a good deal for West Ham.

The 6ft 4in centre-back has played just 50 Premier League games under David Moyes in two-and-a-half years (Transfermarkt). So it’s clear to see that the Scot isn’t a big fan of him.

Diop is now West Ham’s fifth choice centre-back at the London Stadium, so selling him to Fulham should be a no-brainer for Moyes.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Hammers accept the Fulham bid for Issa Diop.
