River Plate are ‘actively’ trying to sign Manuel Lanzini in January, and have approached the West Ham man with an offer.

That’s according to a report from Vermouth Deportivo who claim that River Plate are very keen to sign the 29-year-old Hammer this winter.

Lanzini is out of contract at the end of the season, but West Ham have the option to extend that deal by a further two years.

West Ham boss David Moyes is allegedly prepared allow the Argentinian ace to leave the London Stadium for around £10 million.

Lanzini has played a bit-part role for the Hammers over the past four years, since injuring his ACL in the build up to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

It would be no surprise to see him moved on, and it seems as though that’s exactly what could happen this winter, although Manu allegedly isn’t keen on leaving the East London outfit just yet…

River Plate are eyeing up a move to sign Lanzini in the January transfer window, according to a report from Vermouth Deportivo.

In fact, the Argentines have allegedly made an offer to the 29-year-old already.

Vermouth Deportivo do claim that Lanzini isn’t interested in the switch to River at this present time though.

Described by Sportmob as ‘extraordinary’, Lanzini does have incredible talent. It could be argued that his best days are now in his rearview mirror though.

If the Hammers receive an offer worth around £10 million for Lanzini, selling him would be an absolute no-brainer in my opinion.

Whether River Plate are prepared to pay that kind of money for him remains to be seen.

But with the South American club actively trying to sign the West Ham star January, it does seem like Lanzini’s days in East London could be numbered…
