West Ham United are likely to make an bid to sign Lille attacker Jonathan David in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from BUT! in France who claim that whilst Lille would like to keep David, West Ham and Aston Villa are battling it out for his signature this summer.
Hammers boss David Moyes obviously needs to strengthen his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium before the start of next season.
Michail Antonio is the only option that Moyes currently has available to him through the middle.
And that absolutely has to change before the new Premier League season begins in August. And the Hammers apparently have their eye on a truly outstanding young talent…
West Ham likely to make Jonathan David bid
BUT! in France reckon that the Hammers are battling Aston Villa for the 22-year-old striker’s signature.
It is suggested that West Ham are likely to make a bid for the Canadian soon. And what an unbelievable signing he would be for us.
David is a sensational young talent.
He possesses electric pace and is a real live-wire. The Lille ace is a good finisher as well. He has already scored 20 goals in 30 games for his country Canada and has bagged 17 goals in 46 games for Lille so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The Canadian would be an incredible addition for West Ham. His pace, finishing and movement would add so much to Moyes’s attacking ranks.
Word of warning though…David’s form since the turn of the year hasn’t been great.
And the 22-year-old is valued at around £45 million according to a report from Jeunes Footeux.
He has only scored one goal for Lille since December (Soccerbase)!
Let’s not forget that he is only 22 though. David is still in the very early stages of his career and he has so much talent and potential.
We would be more than happy if Moyes brought the striker to the London Stadium in the summer. And it seems as though a West Ham bid for Jonathan David could be imminent.
