David Moyes raved about two West Ham United players after his side beat Anderlecht 1-0 in the UEFA Europa Conference League last night.

After West Ham beat Anderlecht 1-0 out in Belgium, a win at the London Stadium in the return fixture will guarantee that we win the group. What an achievement that would be with two games still to be played!
The Hammers players went about their jobs in a very professional manner last night. A goal from Gianluca Scamacca put us 1-0 up, and the score stayed that way.

However, it was Alphonse Areola’s wonder save late on in the match that earned us the three points.

The Hammers really should have won the game more comfortably last night.
But on the whole, there were definite improvements in our game all around, and we’ll take the 1-0 win in the end.
Moyes addressed the media post-match and offered praise for two West Ham players in particular, as quoted by Football.London:
Flynn Downes played really well tonight. I thought him and Jarrod (Bowen) were really good.
Moyes is right to praise Downes and Bowen after we won 1-0 last night.
The 23-year-old midfielder arrived from Swansea City in the summer and has been drip fed minutes here and there.
He has proven that he’s more than good enough to be featuring regularly for West Ham now though.
And it was great to see Bowen get back to his best. We have to give the 25-year-old credit where it’s due.
I have often called for him to be dropped this season but the hard-working winger has proven his worth to this Hammers side with his last two performances.
1-0 away at Anderlecht was a great result for West Ham.
And Bowen and Downes both played huge roles in our victory.
