Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed a triple boost for the club ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face the Gunners on the road in tomorrow’s early kick-off. Ahead of the game, Rangnick has confirmed the availability of Scott McTominay, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both McTominay and Varane have overcome minor injuries while Ronaldo has also returned to full training following a brief absence in midweek due to the tragic death of his new-born baby boy.

Rangnick told Manutd.com: “Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play. He has been training with us and will train today, so he will be available for the game tomorrow. The same is true with Rapha Varane and, obviously, Cristiano is available again.”

Amidst the positive news, there has been a disappointing update on midfielder Paul Pogba, who picked up a calf injury at Anfield. He was substituted after just 10 minutes on the clock.

Rangnick was far from positive over the Frenchman’s fitness following that game, and he has now confirmed that he could be sidelined for at least four weeks, meaning he is ruled out for the season.

The German added: “With Paul, it seems, after the scan we did yesterday or the day before yesterday, it’s very unlikely that he will play until the end of the season again.”

With his contract expiring on June 30, Pogba may have played his final game in the Red Devils’ shirt. His agent recently opened negotiations with Juventus and Real Madrid over a free transfer.

Aside from Pogba, United will be missing the services of Fred with a calf problem while Luke Shaw (leg surgery) and Edinson Cavani (calf) are also definite absentees for the north London trip.

Despite the injury setbacks, United should fancy their chances of beating the Gunners. Their recent record has not been good, but they did beat the Gunners at Old Trafford earlier this campaign.

Ronaldo bagged a brace in the 3-2 victory. The Portuguese has netted 21 goals in his homecoming season, and will be crucial to the club’s prospects of beating the Gunners on the road tomorrow.

United are currently sixth on the table, three points behind Spurs and Arsenal with a game in hand. The upcoming game is a must-win or their Champions League hopes are pretty much gone.

The Red Devils will be eyeing their first league victory at the Emirates Stadium since 2017. They won 3-1 during that fixture. David de Gea was the outstanding performer with a stunning 13 saves.
