Predicted MUFC XI vs Nottingham Forest (Premier League home, 2022/23) – Old Trafford Faithful

Our predicted MUFC XI for the Premier League game vs Nottingham Forest is now in…

Manchester United return after a month-and-a-half without a Premier League game in just a few days’ time. The Old Trafford club will no doubt have the Theatre of Dreams rocking upon their return, grateful to welcome back domestic football.

As for the game itself, Nottingham Forest present an interesting test. Make no mistake about it, this will be a tougher game than many will anticipate. So United will have to bring their absolute best.

Erik ten Hag’s high standards will continue to be set as this season wears on, with a real second half of the season push on the cards. Hopefully, the Dutchman and his coaching staff can help deliver us top four. Winning games like these is a necessity in that race.

Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news.

David de Gea does start in between the sticks. He was given the Burnley game off. No doubt he’s chomping at the bit and eager to play.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts in the right-back spot as Diogo Dalot continues to work his way back from injury. Luke Shaw plays over on the left-hand side of defence. Victor Lindelof is a guarantee to play here, probably alongside Harry Maguire, who should return from illness.

Casemiro will move to a more familiar defensive-midfield role for this one, which will no doubt suit the Brazilian. He will play alongside Christian Eriksen. Bruno Fernandes also starts, but slightly higher up the field.

It feels like it has been an absolute age since Anthony Martial started a Premier League game. This feels like an opportune moment to see what he’s capable of. To his left and right respectively, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford have more than earned their starting spots.
