Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they host Norwich City in the Premier League this weekend.
The Red Devils have had a poor restart after the international break with a draw and defeat against Leicester City and Everton respectively.
This has seen them drop six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on the table with just seven games left in the season.
Hence, their Champions League destiny is no longer in their hands. They must win their remaining matches to give themselves a chance.
David de Gea has played every minute of the Red Devils’ league campaign. He has come up with several stand-out saves, helping the club secure valuable points. The Spaniard has not received much help from his backline, but will be hoping to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.
The defence could be identical to the 1-0 loss at Everton. Diogo Dalot has firmly established himself as the regular right-back. With Luke Shaw sidelined after a minor leg surgery, Alex Telles is expected to continue on the opposite end.
A deflection off Harry Maguire paved the way for the Toffees’ winner last weekend, but barring this, the club captain has looked relatively solid since the restart. With Raphael Varane sidelined with an injury, Victor Lindelof should continue to partner the England star in central defence.
Scott McTominay has been struggling with a sole injury of late and appears likely to miss the game alongside Fred, who has muscular problems on his hip flexor. In the absence of the duo, Nemanja Matic appears set to start as the holding midfielder with Paul Pogba (valued at £49.5 million) playing just ahead of him.
Further forward, no changes are likely. Marcus Rashford made a bright start at Goodison Park, inducing two saves from Jordan Pickford and had an effort following the break. He was probably harshly taken off during the back end of the contest.
We fancy him to continue in his preferred left wing role with Jadon Sancho on his right. The club’s summer signing has also tended to impress from the left wing, but may have to operate on the opposite flank to compensate for Rashford’s presence.
Bruno Fernandes should be an undisputed starter in the number 10 role and the same can be said for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has netted just four times this year, but there is barely any competition with Edinson Cavani out injured once again.
