West Ham United have been handed a potentially huge boost with ‘world-class’ Arsenal ace absent from Saturday training pictures.

Football.London claim that William Saliba wasn’t pictured in Arsenal training today, ahead of the Boxing Day clash with the Hammers.

David Moyes takes his West Ham side to the Emirates on Monday for a game that he’ll be absolutely desperate to pick up a result in.

And the same can be said of Mikel Arteta, with Gunners side currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table, five points clear of second placed Manchester City.

The Spaniard will be well aware of the importance of his Arsenal team keeping their foot down on the gas.

The north London outfit already have plenty of injury concerns, with Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson definitely out injured and Oleksandr Zinchenko a major doubt. And it seems as though Arteta may have another problem on his hands…

William Saliba wasn’t pictured during training at London Colney today.

Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t be fit to face the Hammers, but it will be a big concern for Arteta and the Gunners fans nevertheless.

Football.London have described Saliba as a ‘world-class’ player, and he has been the best central defender in the Premier League this season in my opinion.

In 14 Premier League games so far this season, the 21-year-old has bagged two goals and one assist. During those appearances, Saliba has averaged 1.6 tackles and 2.7 clearances per game. He has averaged 67.1 passes per match and has recorded a 92.1% completion rate (Who Scored).

The Frenchman really is a sensational talent, and his physique and authoritative nature defy his tender years.

So if he is unable to play against West Ham, it will be a truly massive blow for Arsenal and a huge boost for us at the same time.

West Ham desperately need a positive performance and result against Arsenal.

And if Saliba is unavailable for selection for the Gunners, the Hammers will have a far greater chance of doing just that.
