A group of Man United supporters have unveiled a new Lisandro Martinez flag banner.
At the time, there were reservations about Manchester United signing Lisandro Martinez. After all, at the time, the Red Devils went after Jurrien Timber initially – before settling on his teammate.
The Argentine, aged 24, has been nothing short of sensational. The former Ajax man was brought his winning mentality from Ajax to Manchester, playing a vital role in the Erik ten Hag system.
Line-breaking passes, defending with intent and passion, just generally top-tier performances. We’ve witnessed everything from Martinez. I’d argue he’s been our best defender this side of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Matic.
The fans have already developed a genuine love for ‘Licha’. He has been truly special to watch.
Anyway some supporters have unveiled a new flag banner for Lisandro Martinez – using his native Argentine flag and adding a butcher’s knife to it, using his ‘Butcher of Amsterdam’ nickname very creatively.
The player himself saw the banner, and reacted to it via his Instagram account, labelling it ‘incredible’. It’s hard to disagree.

This is a cracking piece of work from the lads who have come up with this, with Martinez himself obviously impressed with the effort.
Word on the street is that this banner has sadly been banned from Old Trafford. I’m not too sure as to why. Perhaps it’s due to the nature of the flag (it has a knife on it), or maybe it just doesn’t fit their size parameters.
However, It’s great to learn that the player himself has now seen the custom-made flag. No doubt this means an awful lot to the creators/guys who came up with the idea.
