Opinion: West Ham could seal sensational January deal for ‘unbelievable’ Guillamon

Valencia midfielder Hugo Guillamon would be an absolutely outstanding signing for West Ham in the January transfer window.

90min recently reported that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 22-year-old ace to the London Stadium in January.

The Scot should be on the look-out for a big upgrade on Tomas Soucek in the winter window.

Declan Rice and Flynn Downes have both been exceptional so far this season, but the Czech ace has become a liability unfortunately.

If West Ham are to make genuine progress to the next level, Moyes needs to bring in someone who is comfortable in possession in the middle of the park.

And we think that the perfect option is out there and available for the Scot…

West Ham signing Hugo Guillamon would be a sensational move

Mundo Deportivo claim that Guillamon’s current contract with Los Che has a €50million (£43million) release clause included.

Well-renowned football scouting website Breaking the Lines describe the Spain international as an ‘unbelievable’ player.

What an incredible signing Hugo Guillamon would be for West Ham.

The 22-year-old is a defensive midfielder by trade, but he can also operate at centre-back if need be.

Like most Spanish players, he is very technically gifted and is incredibly comfortable in possession.

Guillamon has bagged three assists in 11 La Liga outings for Valencia so far this season. During those appearances, he has averaged 1.4 key passes per match. The Spaniard has made 47.5 passes per game on average and has recorded a completion rate of 83.9% (Who Scored).

£43 million sounds like a lot of money, especially for someone who is totally unproven in the Premier League. However, I think the Valencia star would be totally worth it.

And that is the kind of money that the Hammers owners need to be spending, if they are in fact serious about taking us forward as a club.

We think that if the owners are ambitious enough, West Ham should have a real chance to sign Guillamon in January.
