Nottingham Forest are allegedly interested in signing Said Benrahma from West Ham United this summer.

That’s according to a report from The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg who claims that the Hammers are willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old winger.

Benrahma has already been linked with a move to Fulham this summer by high-level club insiders.

Benrahma actually joined the Hammers originally on loan in October 2020 but his move was made permanent for around £30 million (The Athletic) just three months later in order to facilitate the loan signing of Jesse Lingard.

Benrahma struggled to make much of an impact during his first season at the London Stadium. Last term though, the 17-capped Algeria international showed what he is all about.

It appears as though the 26-year-old’s days in the East End could be numbered though…

Nottingham Forest eyeing Said Benrahma swoop

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg reckons that Forest are interested in bringing the Algerian ace to the City Ground this summer.

We believe that allowing Benrahma to leave the London Stadium this summer could be a big mistake from David Moyes.

Benrahma bagged 11 goals and six assists in 48 games for the Hammers last season (Transfermarkt). Only Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen racked up more goals and assists and Benrahma played more than 1,000 minutes less than both of those players.

Benrahma is one of the best ball carriers that we have at West Ham, alongside Declan Rice.

Rice is a big fan of the ex-Brentford man and once labelled him as ‘amazing’ (Newham Recorder).

He has unfortunately been somewhat of a pariah figure at the London Stadium though, and is often the scapegoat following defeats.

Moyes clearly doesn’t rate Benrahma for whatever reason. So a move away would probably be the best thing for his career.

If we receive a large offer for the 26-year-old this summer, it will be no surprise whatsoever if Moyes lets him go.

Perhaps Said Benrahma would flourish at Nottingham Forest under Steve Cooper.

It might be a decent move for him personally but we think the Hammers should really think twice about giving up on the Algerian.
