In the latest turn of events surrounding PSG star Neymar Jr., former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has stepped in with some advice. Amidst increasing rumours of Neymar’s departure from the Parisians, Silva has encouraged his compatriot to consider a move to Arsenal rather than Newcastle United.

Newcastle United, who are looking likely to secure a Champions League spot next season, have emerged as one of the front runners for Neymar’s signature, largely thanks to their Saudi owners.

However, Gilberto, the former Gunners defensive midfielder, is urging Neymar to follow in his footsteps and make a switch to North London.

Recent reports from France suggest that Neymar is looking for an exit route out of PSG, particularly after fans have made it unequivocally clear that they no longer require his services.

The situation for Neymar at PSG appears increasingly untenable, with fans recently gathering at his residence in protest, demanding ‘Neymar get lost’.

Speaking on this matter, Gilberto expressed his disappointment at the fans’ behaviour. He said, “The last few weeks at PSG have been very strange for Neymar. Seeing people go to his house; I don’t agree with this, fans are not allowed to go to a player’s house to protest.”

Further advocating for Neymar’s move to Arsenal, Silva added, “I would love to see him at Arsenal instead of Newcastle because I love the boy as a player, but he also has a lot to contribute to football.”

Given Neymar’s immense talent and experience, a move to Arsenal could be a significant coup for the Gunners. However, with other clubs like Newcastle United in the mix, it remains to be seen where Neymar will decide to continue his footballing journey.

Whatever happens, and wherever Neymar ends up, it is extremely unlikely he will find himself at Arsenal.
