Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing one-time West Ham United target William Carvalho from Real Betis in January.
That’s according to Fichajes who claim that Newcastle and Arsenal are both keen to sign the 30-year-old midfielder this winter.
West Ham fans will be all too familiar with Carvalho.
Five years ago in September 2017, West Ham were pushing hard to sign the Portuguese central midfielder (The Guardian).

Fichajes claim that the 30-year-old Real Betis ace is on the Magpies’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.
It would be a strange signing from Newcastle in all fairness – he’ll be 31 before the end of the season after all.
Eddie Howe has done a magnificent job since taking over at St James’ Park last season.
Carvalho would just be a really strange signing for them in my opinion.
Once thing that we can be sure of is that West Ham won’t be going in for Carvalho again, after Sullivan’s previous beef with the Sporting directors.
If Newcastle end up signing William Carvalho though, it will be interesting to see how he gets on on the Premier League.
