David de Gea – Didn’t have a single save to make in the first 45. Made a comfortable stop midway through the second half. 6/10
Diogo Dalot – Won the penalty with a threatening run forward. Tried to get in advanced positions wherever possible. Continued his good form. 6/10
Raphael Varane – Played quite high up the field at times and tried to pass the ball in between the lines. Wasn’t really pushed defensively. 6/10
Lisandro Martinez – Pretty solid again. Much like Varane, he didn’t have too much to deal with but he played well. 6/10
Tyrell Malacia – Continues to look sharp. He had another good game here. 7/10
Scott McTominay – Given 45 minutes. Steady enough but taken off at half-time. 6/10
Christian Eriksen – Probably United’s best player on the day. Picked some superb passes to get the Reds moving in the right direction. Looked sharp. 8/10
Anthony – Hit and miss. Showed a couple of glimpses of his capabilities but didn’t really get into it on a consistent basis. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – Always probing and trying to make things happen. He’s looking good under Ten Hag. 6/10
Jadon Sancho – Took his goal so well. Looks so silky and confident when in possession. Sent a message to Southgate after his England snub. 7/10
Cristiano Ronaldo – Scored a penalty to kickstart his season, but the overall performance still left plenty to be desired. 6/10
Casemiro – Came on at half-time for some much-needed game time.
Luke Shaw – Back from injury and available for selection again.
Anthony Elanga – A fairly late sub. Not enough time to mark.
Harry Maguire – Not enough time to mark.
Alejandro Garnacho – Not enough time to mark.
