In new interviews, Hammers boss David Moyes has set the targets for the season and says he’s loving life at West Ham.

This time last year few would have believed West Ham would end 2023 in the top six of the Premier League and last 16 of the Europa League having won their first trophy for 43 years.

But that’s exactly what has happened after the day days of the first half of last season.

Speculation has been rife over David Moyes’ future at the club.

There were claims he will leave when his West Ham contract is up at the end of the season.

Boss sets season’s targets

Speaking in two new interviews with the club’s official website and Sky Sports, Moyes believes West Ham can aim to try and win the Europa League.

And he believes the Irons can also qualify for Europe via their league position for a third time in four seasons.

“Everything at the club has grown,” Moyes said on the club’s official website.

“We’ve grown. We’re trying to challenge right at the top. We’re never going to say we’re not going for it, in terms of Europe. I’m trying to continue growth at this club…

‘Why can’t we knock on the door again?’

“We have to keep progressing and moving forward. If we can finish in Europe again, then it would be an incredible achievement.

“This place means a lot to me. West Ham has really grown on me and, to be fair, the club grew on me when I was here in my first spell too. This second time, I’m enjoying it even more.”

In a separate interview with Sky Sports, Moyes insists there’s no reason his side cannot win another European trophy.

“The task now is to see if we can win the Europa League and can we challenge,” Moyes said.

“If we’ve done well at it (Europe) for two years why can we not try and knock at the door again and see if we can do it?”
