David Moyes has declared his love for West Ham and named one player who won’t face Sheffield United this weekend.

West Ham and Sheffield United meet again in what’s dubbed the Carlos Tevez derby at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Fans on both sides know the history so we won’t drag up old news.

But West Ham fans famously wore Tevez masks to goad Blades fans a few years ago.

And many Hammers fans taunted Sheffield United on social media when they were thumped 8-0 by Newcastle last week asking: “Was that Tevez’s fault too?”

West Ham are looking to continue their fine start to the season by getting back to winning ways against Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Sheffield United meanwhile are searching for a first win on their return to the top flight and to restore some pride.

Paul Merson has delivered an emphatic prediction for the clash.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been speaking to the press ahead of the game amid a hectic fixture schedule.

And the Scot is clearly still enjoying himself while delivering – on the whole – some positive team news for when the Blades come to town – which happens to be his 900th league game in management.

‘He’s not ready yet but he’s coming on well’

“I don’t there is a secret (to my longevity),” Moyes told the press.

“I’ve been in a long time, you have to have an incredible love of the game and you have to want to continue wanting to improve.

“I don’t know how many different managers have come into the Premier League over the seasons but you have to keep evolving to keep up and I’m enjoying every minute of being the manager of West Ham…

“We’re pretty much fine (in terms of fitness and injuries). We had a game in midweek and we’re making sure everybody is recovered from that and hopefully everyone is fit and well for Saturday.

“Aaron Cresswell has had a bit of a hamstring injury and he’s not ready yet but he’s coming on well.”
