Man United have handed pro terms to another FA Youth Cup winner in the form of Maxi Oyedele.
It goes without saying, promoting youth is deep-rooted within the DNA of Manchester United Football Club.
Their FA Youth Cup win felt like a beacon of hope for this club, during an entirely forgettable season. There’s no doubt Alejandro Garnacho is the crown jewel, though that squad is jam-packed with talented youngsters.
It’s great to see United being so proactive in regards to getting these young reds tied down to new contracts. Not too long ago, Tyler Fredricson was given his first pro contract.
Now, Maxi Oyedele is the latest to be bestowed with fresh terms. The story comes from the Manchester Evening News, who writes that Oyedele has been given his first pro contract. As you can see below, he was all smiles putting pen to paper.
A midfielder by trade, Oyedele played just over twenty minutes off the substitutes bench in the Youth Cup final, looking mightily impressive during his cameo.
What’s impressive about Oyedele is his availability. This is a young man who played some part in every single game on the way to United’s FA Youth Cup trophy. It goes without saying, both his manager and fellow teammates must trust him wholeheartedly.
Again, it’s just good to see United rewarding those that deserve them with better terms as they look to take their first steps within the professional game.
Oyedele is someone who is already making an impression at the international level, too, having earned a call-up to the Poland U18s squad. The midfielder is also eligible for either Nigeria or England, should he choose to switch allegiances in future.
Congratulations on the new deal, Maxi!
