Manchester United are among clubs interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer, according to The Mail.
The Red Devils are likely to invest on a new central defender with Harry Maguire reportedly looking to leave the club in the next transfer window.
The club have been linked with several names including Kim Min-jae and Goncalo Inacio and it is now claimed that they are keeping tabs on Guehi.
The 22-year-old has developed into a quality centre-back in his second season at Palace. It is claimed that the London outfit could sell him for £50 million.
United should look at better defensive options
Guehi has had a good second season with the Eagles. He has completed 85 per cent of his passes in the Premier League while making 3.7 clearances per game.
The former Chelsea graduate has kept seven clean sheets in the top-flight but he has also been prone to making defensive errors at the south London outfit.
Meanwhile, he has lost possession on nearly 10 occasions per game which is quite high for a centre-back.
Hence, he is far from a complete player and the Red Devils should not enter a bidding battle for him, particularly with the high asking price set for his services.
United could sign Napoli star Kim Min-jae for a similar fee. The 26-year-old has been performing at a world-class level and could emerge as a regular starter.
With Raphael Varane’s injury woes, United need another leader at the back and Min-jae would be a perfect addition, though the club will have to convince him.
