Man United are doing their best to allow Aaron Wan-Bissaka to leave the club.

You get the impression that before Manchester United allow Erik ten Hag to buy players in January, the club will have to sell some first-teamers to generate the funds.

One man whose name hasn’t been heard all that often this term is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Initially, the right-back was deemed surplus to requirements by United’s Dutch manager. He’s barely featured since.

With Diogo Dalot in good form (for club and country), it only increases the chances of a Wan-Bissaka exit.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has given us the latest information on Wan-Bissaka. He says that United are ‘trying to find a solution’ for the 25-year-old in order to let him leave. There is interest from Premier League sides, including Wolves, West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Furthermore, United’s main priority is to extend Dalot’s contract.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s tweet on Aaron Wan-Bissaka here:

United paid £50m to bring Wan-Bissaka in. The club would do well to get half of that money back in the mid-season window, with the Englishman’s stock only going down…

You’d imagine that, due to his high wages, this will likely become a loan deal with some option to buy. It depends on Wan-Bissaka moving somewhere he’ll play regularly and rediscover that confidence.

The talent is obviously there, he’s just not the best fit stylistically for this current Ten Hag system.

If Wan-Bissaka does leave, it will mean United will have to invest in a right-back of some sort. I guess the most likely short-term option is to bring Ethan Laird back from his QPR loan. Which is something I wouldn’t be against.
