A trio of Man United players have been named in the latest BBC Team of the Week after a 2-0 win vs Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United Football Club had a decent weekend, all things considered. Points dropped by Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur means the Red Devils are in control to finish in third place in the table, winning a position in the Champions League as a result.

The performance, on the whole, against Nottingham Forest, was great. United were always in the driver’s seat, forcing their style upon their opponents and playing well. Despite wholesale injury issues.

Erik ten Hag can be pleased with the way his team played during this one, with confidence now flowing through the team at a key portion of the campaign.

For their individual displays, a trio of United players were named in the latest BBC Team of the Week for their performances. David de Gea, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes were all included by Garth Crooks.

For what it’s worth, I’ve seen many De Gea performances better than this one. The Spaniard was good enough and he did make one big save, though aside from that, it was a pretty standard display by the United number one.

Dalot, on the other hand, was unreal. He started as an inverted left-sided defender and he did his job magnificently. Obviously, the highlight was his first goal in United colours, though his all-round display was really bright.

Then you have Bruno, who was nothing short of sensational. Yes, he was given plenty of time to pick the right passes, though his execution, work ethic and creativity was superb. He was an absolute joy to watch.

All three lads deserved their inclusion, though I’d also make a pitch for Antony. The man from Brazil was pretty special yesterday, scoring one and tacking on an assist during a confident display.

Do you think Antony could have made the cut? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
