Man United set for new round of talks over Wout Weghorst signing

Man United are all set for more talks in an effort to try and sign Wout Weghorst.

Manchester United remain in the market for a striker. The Old Trafford club have to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in some way, shape or form this month. That’s blatantly obvious.

Wout Weghorst’s name is the one that has popped up most recently. Those rumours continue to intensify at this moment in time.

When Weghorst waved goodbye to the Besiktas fans over the weekend, United supporters felt confident that a deal would happen.

However, this move isn’t without it’s complications due to the three-way negotiations taking place. Burnley, Weghorst’s parent club, Besiktas, the side he’s currently at on loan and United, the team looking to buy him.

Fabrizio Romano has provided us all with more news on the ongoing saga. And it’s a positive one where United are concerned.

Apparently, all parties are ‘confident’ that a deal will be done, though they’re still waiting for that to happen. As things stand, the clubs positions are now closer.

A new round of talks have now been scheduled, with Besiktas hoping to receive some form of compensation to let Weghorst leave the Turkish outfit this month.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s latest information on a Man United move for Wout Weghorst here:

The more I look at it, the more I like this impending deal. Weghorst feels like the ideal fit for this current United side, with Erik ten Hag desperate to bring in some support for Anthony Martial up front.

Weghorst’s work rate, sheer physical presence and natural goalscoring ability make this an intriguing short-term deal. I genuinely do believe it’ll happen and if it goes well, I can see United trying to make this a permanent signing by the time the summer comes around.
