Man United have pulled the plug on a possible move to sign Marko Arnautovic.

It seems as though Manchester United are seriously allergic to signing players at this moment in time.

Deals for Benjamin Sesko and Frenkie de Jong have both seemingly failed, leaving the club supremely short in a couple of key areas.

Alternatives have been found. Marko Arnautovic was one of them. We covered a claim just earlier today that stated that personal terms had been agreed with the Austrian.

Well, that deal is now dead in the water. According to The Athletic, United have pulled out of a move to sign the attacker – and rightly so.

It is understood that United received a number of complaints about the idea of the club signing the Austrian.

Why? Well, Arnautovic has been involved in anti-semitic/racial slurs in the past. Understandably, our supporters were not happy.

Michael Damevski, who is of North Macedonian descent, wrote to the club directly, to tell United that their anti-racism policy goes against everything that Arnautovic is. Several fans also emailed Richard Arnold directly.

United boss Erik ten Hag wanted Arnautovic as a cut-price option, though he’ll absolutely understand why the club will no longer move for the Austrian this summer.

To us here at Old Trafford Faithful, this feels like a small win for the Red Devils in a time of absolute uncertainty about the current regime.

Fans still have voices. This is why you’re now seeing protests happening outside Old Trafford on a regular basis.

This, of course, now means United will have to move on to other potential transfer targets. So it’ll be intriguing to see who we’re linked with next…

Who do you think Man United should move for now that Marko Arnautovic is out of the question? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
