Atletico Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Man United-linked attacker, Joao Felix.
Over the summer, Manchester United spent big bucks as they tried to back Erik ten Hag as much as possible.
The Dutchman is repaying that faith with some excellent performances and results. The Old Trafford club are playing some lovely stuff, competing with the best teams in the country.
However, further investment is absolutely needed if the Reds are to start winning trophies year-in-year-out. One player whom the club have looked at, under Ten Hag and previous managers, is Joao Felix.
According to their report, Atletico Madrid are willing to ‘listen to offers’ for the player previously linked with a United switch. On multiple occasions, I will add.
Why? Well, Atletico have been dumped out of the Champions League, finishing bottom of their group and leaving the La Liga club with some funds to generate.
Couple that with Felix and Diego Simeone not exactly seeing eye to eye recently and the 22-year-old may be up for sale.
Felix has been ‘strongly admired by United for years, the Daily Express claim, though Atleti remains adamant that he’s still one of their players.
It feels like this potential transfer has been brewing ever since Felix and Simeone had their tiff behind the scenes. However, that will not mean the player is available for a cut-price deal.
United, or any potential buyer, will still have to pay vast sums of money to sign Felix.
There’s no doubt United do need some extra quality in that final third. Felix would absolutely help out in that regard. However, this feels like a deal that has more potential to happen in the summer, rather than the winter window. Can Ten Hag wait that long? I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
