Man United are monitoring the situation of Napoli player, Kim Min-Jae.
Manchester United are slowly adjusting their style of play under Erik ten Hag, with the Red Devils adapting their squad as a direct result of their new boss.
A different tactic requires different personnel. It’ll take time for the gaffer to be completely happy with his squad. Ahead of the January transfer window, the rumours are once again starting to ramp up.
The latest news comes from journalist Ekrem Konur, who links United with a move to sign Napoli centre-back, Kim Min-Jae.
He says that United, amongst many other clubs are ‘monitoring’ the 26-year-old’s transfer situation. However, Napoli will not accept offers for the centre-back during the January transfer window. They want to wait until the summer.
Amongst the other clubs keen are Brighton, Fulham, Tottenham and Juventus. That alone should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the player.
Check out Ekrem Konur’s tweet on the information here:
There can be no doubt that Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have emerged as the top two. Harry Maguire may well be up for sale, meaning the club simply have to bring in another defender to replace the Englishman.
Maguire’s issue is a lack of pace. Min-Jae is certainly much faster than the current club captain. Factor in the consistent errors made by the Englishman and this seems like a pretty direct upgrade if the club could pull it off.
Again, it’s about soldiering on with Maguire until the summer. First and foremost, United have to ensure they can finish inside the top four if they’re to stand any chance at landing the best players by the time next summer comes around.
As things stand, the biggest competition from Min-Jae likely comes from Juve.
