Man United have made Randal Kolo Muani a top priority going into the summer window.

Manchester United Football Club need a striker this summer. There’s no getting away from it. The Old Trafford side need a 25+ goal-a-season striker they can rely upon in those tight-knit encounters.

Several faces have been linked, including Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani. We covered a Sky Germany claim crediting the Reds with an interest earlier this week.

Now, RMC Sport journalist, Fabrice Hawkins, has provided an update on the Muani situation via Twitter.

According to the report, United have made the 24-year-old a ‘priority’ signing, though Bayern Munich have done the same. PSG are also keen.

In terms of transfer fee, Eintracht Frankfurt want €100m (£88m) to sell the player this summer. Obviously, that’s a hefty sum of money…

Muani has played 41 times for Frankfurt this season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions during an impressive debut season in the Bundesliga. This shows us that he doesn’t need time to adapt to a new league – rather, the Frenchman is capable of hitting the ground running.

You’d expect those numbers to rise as the quality around him increases, too. Partnering him with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford would only be a positive step for Muani’s career.

Bayern Munich’s interest in the player is somewhat worrying, though. Muani is now comfortable in Germany. He could head to Bavaria with the guarantee of multiple trophies on a yearly basis, while replacing Robert Lewandowski as the main man for Bayern.

As a minimum, United will have to offer Champions League football. Currently, the reds are three league wins from guaranteeing just that.
