Man United have eyes on Preston North End youngster, Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile.

Manchester United’s rich history and DNA is built upon giving youngsters a chance. Why should the Red Devils divert away from what has worked for them?

Erik ten Hag strikes us all as a manager who’ll continue that mantra. Just as Alejandro Garnacho all you need to know about that.

It makes sense to me when United is linked with moves to sign the stars of tomorrow. Enter, Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile.

It’s The Mirror with the claim, stating that United are amongst the sides ‘keeping tabs’ on the young man. Liverpool are also credited with interest.

The starlet scored five goals in a game for Preston North End’s U18 side in the FA Youth Cup earlier this season, with his team beating Rotherham 6-1.

Rodriguez-Gentile only joined Preston last October, though his stock continues to rise, with the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs also keen on the striker.

Born in Brazil, Rodriguez-Gentile classes himself as an Argentinian due to his family roots, while also holding a Spanish passport. Those nations will all be fighting for his services if the young man fulfils his potential.

This is exactly the sort of signing United have become synonymous with. It’s what the club does best. Why not go out there and try to sign this guy on a relatively inexpensive deal? With a view to him becoming a world-beater over the next decade.

What I like most is that it’s a relatively risk-free move. Rodriguez-Gentile only has upside, with United not missing out on anything if the young man doesn’t make it at the highest level.

The sooner the move is done, the better.

Do you think a Man United move for Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
