Man United are concerned they may have to sell Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United are looking in good shape under Erik ten Hag, with several players improving under the Dutchman’s tutelage.

Perhaps the biggest benefactor of the Ten Hag regime, so far at least, is Marcus Rashford.

The Englishman has kicked it up a notch with the ex-Ajax manager at the helm, performing like we all know he can on a regular basis. Even England are reaping those rewards.

However, it’s not all hunky dory in regards to Rashford. His contract is winding down, with his current deal expiring this coming summer. United do hold the option to extend that by a further year. While we covered a claim not too long ago stating that the Reds are trying to tie Rashford down to a new long-term deal.

The Daily Star’s latest update on the future of Rashford is certainly concerning. Apparently, United ‘fear’ they’ll be ‘forced to sell’ their key star next summer due to his contract situation.

Rashford is attracting interest from Europe’s ‘elite’, with Real Madrid at the front of the queue. They’re long-term ‘admirers’ of the United man.

It’s stated United are comfortable with the situation right now, though things in football can change quickly.

If Rashford does not put pen to paper, United would be willing to listen to offers of around £80m to let the homegrown hero leave.

Obviously, that’d be a big blow for Ten Hag, who has helped Rashford turn his fortunes around over the last six months.

No doubt the current World Cup leading goalscorer is weighing up his options behind the scenes – although the fact that he’s a United fan leaves us feeling somewhat confident he’ll stay at the club.
