Man United fans were not impressed with Amad, as he struggled vs Crystal Palace in pre-season.

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United made it three wins from three in pre-season tour, once again looking good in the process.

First and foremost, the opposition was not up to much. Crystal Palace were pretty awful on the day but United can only beat what was put in front of them…

It was nice to see the attack leading the press from the front, forcing opponents into mistakes and scoring goals as a direct result. In the second half, young winger Amad was thrown onto the pitch, with Ten Hag trying to gauge whether the Ivorian is up to standard.

For the third game in a row, the winger looked a little underwhelming. Sure, he’s full of pace, desire and energy. However, with the ball at feet in key situations, Amad often plays the wrong pass or picks the wrong option.

He still looks a little rough around the edges, while you could hear Ten Hag barking orders at the 20-year-old over the MUTV commentary. No doubt he’ll improve as a result, though perhaps asking him to do a job in the first-team at United would be a little unfair.

You get the feeling a loan move is right around the corner for Amad, though then that leaves United pretty light in that right-wing position, so perhaps a new signing would have to be made. I guess that explains the interest in Ajax winger Antony.

As you’d imagine, the United supporters took to Twitter by the masses to state that they don’t believe the youngster is ready. His struggles vs a poor Crystal Palace side were pretty evident…
