Man United have two players included in the 2022/23 WhoScored Premier League Team of the Season.

Manchester United absolutely deserve credit for their 2022/23 campaign. The Red Devils started slowly, though quickly found their feet under Erik ten Hag.

A trophy is already in the bag, while a third-place finish was more than most were expecting. There’s also the chance at another piece of silverware in the FA Cup final.

Ahead of that game, the Premier League wrap-up is well underway. Casemiro was named in the BBC Team of the Season for his impressive performance.

However, WhoScored have gone in a different direction. They have a duo named in their statistical 2022/23 Premier League Team of the Season; Luke Shaw and Bruno Fernandes.

The pair have both played brilliantly all year long, so it’s nice to see them given confirmation for their positive performances.

Check out the full 2022/23 WhoScored Premier League Team of the Season:

Let’s start with Shaw, whose 6.90 rating is actually the lowest in the XI. However, that doesn’t diminish his on-field impact. The left-back has been excellent throughout the course of the season – on both sides of the ball.

He’s always willing to bomb forward wherever possible, showcasing his speed, engine and on-ball quality. Defensively, he’s never shirked a tackle, while his positional sense has certainly improved. Don’t forget he’s also filled in at centre-back for a handful of games, too.

As for Bruno Fernandes, we’re genuinely running out of superlatives. The Portugal international scored a 7.44 rating, which is only bettered by three other players. He’s always at the heart of everything good about United’s attacking play.

He’s also the first one to lead the press, while the fact he’s never injured is another big tick for Bruno. The ex-Sporting man feels like the natural permanent successor for the armband when/if David de Gea leaves. He’s consistently putting in the performances to back that up!

Congratulations, lads!
